we could not find the actual yearly calendar we really wanted, one which can allow you to properly visualize an entire year, "as it happens", without any montly breaks, just the 52 weeks well aligned, and no other distractions
so we created one
it's linear, it's yearly, so we name it the lin-yearly calendar
have a look

it's a wrap
since 2014 we've been busy promoting the genders and sexualities festival "la fds" by managing its communications department
next year will be the last unfortunately, as we will be taking on new challenges, but we will remain very close to the wonderful people who have created this uniquely fantastic event, and will keep this experience forever in our hearts

the
lin-yearly
calendar
the proprietary e+a “linyearly” calendar is a large yearly calendar without any break at the end of each month
it is designed to set your eyes on the entire year at once
a column for each day – starting monday
and a line for each week
months are visually differentiated by colours
special markings indicate your region’s school holidays
printed in a large A0 format
the white empty cells allow you to color days according to your upcoming events
and bank holiday dates are differentiated by color and slightly bigger digits
your year, in the blink of an eye

hello chf!
concept
hello chf! (you can pronounce it “hi tunes!”) is an effort to distribute fair earnings to local artists by having their music played in the places (cafés, bars, restaurants, concert venues) they usually like to go to
it’s a patronage in both ways:
artists choose the bars/cafés they love and one of their song that seems to be fitting
cafés get sold on the idea of playing local music for 3-4 hours a day
“hello chf” brings the two together
this offers a circularity of inspiration and earnings
selection
the selection of the tracks for these playlists can be challenging considering the locations where they get played: cafés, restaurants and hotels are crowded places where it is crucial to play the right music, one which can nicely “live” in the background, without taking over or being obtrusive
so there are harsh decisions to be made when choosing.
here is the rule we go by when picking the right tracks: no matter the style, the genre, the most important is that the music remains consistent: there should be no sudden changes in volume or style. there should be no cuts. a track can’t have a heavy/loud part in it. also, since some stereo systems might not always be up to par, we avoid “weird” sounds (which might sound cute in your headphones, but will yield no result in a bar full of people)
all in all, unfortunately, a lot of great songs simply cannot make the cut
playlists
there is a selection of 2 playlists to choose from, depending on the time of the day/the atmosphere desired
the “day” playlist is chill, whereas the “apéro” one is obviously more inclined to light up the party and get you going…
