we eliminate the intersection entirely
urban design, pedestrian mobility. a study for Lausanne — not commissioned, not adopted, and offered freely to anyone who wants to argue with it.
a continuous, uninterrupted pedestrian artery through the urban fabric
a dedicated sidewalk network where citizens can journey across neighborhoods without ever stepping into vehicular traffic.
by leveraging thoughtful routing, pedestrian priority corridors, and Lausanne’s unique multi-level topography, we transform city walking from a series of stops, waits, and traffic hazards into a fluid, uninterrupted journey. this project creates a space dedicated to safe, wise, and continuous movement.
for a forward-looking city like Lausanne, this network offers more than zero-collision safety: it reimagines how citizens experience their landscape.
it reframes pedestrian safety not as a set of rules for crossing danger zones, but as an infrastructure that removes the danger entirely

a first step
a permanent network is an argument for a city council. a weekend is not. the cheapest way to test the idea is to run the routes for one or two days — signed, stewarded, and open — and see what walking Lausanne uninterrupted actually feels like.
